Triangle Fun

Hi Everyone!

Just For Fun Friday has come around again :)  Today I have a card for you that is designed after a sketch (see below) and another challenge was to use embossing.  The theme is winter, tho it has not yet snowed. I think it might, however, any minute.

Triangles were stamped with the pinecone using a Versafine pad and sprinkled with blue and green embossing powder. I also stamped the tall evergreen and the large and small snowy trees on tiny dotted paper. Once all was adhered to the cardstock I added some brown cording in a triangle shape. Lastly I stamped Many Thanks on a piece of scrap cardstock using archival ink and quickly covered with clear embossing powder.

I hope you like the card and thanks so much for visiting!  Don't forget to visit the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps Blog also for some great design team inspiration.

Just Sittin' Here....

Today is Friday and that means Just For Fun Rubber Stamp day!

I wanted to play a bit with the Goosebumps Texture Shimmer spray I picked up. This is what you see shining on the background. It's quite an interesting product. I did add a little silver pigment ink over it using my finger. After it dried I ran it through the Cuttlebug using a woodgrained embossing folder.  The chair is die cut from the inside of an envelope.

Close up to show paper that cardinal (F3417) is stamped on.
The sentiment (UMS7020)  is stamped on white card stock and cut out by hand to resemble wood.

READY FOR WINTER......

Oh my gosh....can't believe I'm creating cards for winter when I'm enjoying the Florida weather, but I guess I should be thankful I can be south during this time of year. YEAH!

Today I'm showing you a card I made using a favorite stamp from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps called Ready for Winter F2699.  She has such a timeless face and presence so she will be used for many years to come.   Here's my card (5 x 7 size).

I did the triple layering technique using just one stamp for the background G3584 Tree with Berries (again one of my favorites, if you've been following my posts) . I stamped with Versafine ink onto white card stock and dotted each berry with a red marker. I then assembled all the layers/mats and started working on my image. Below is a closer look at the image...

I love to paper piece and thought this would be a great image to use this technique on. I stamped her first on white card stock using black Archival Ink and again on decorative paper. I thought the tiny print of the paper was so appropriate for her coat.  What do you think?
I cut the first image out  and colored her hair, face, hands and warmers, boots and sled using colored pencils. I set this aside and cut out just the coat and hat from the print paper. I used my xacto knife to cut around the sleeve endings and her hands also. I adhered the print over the pencil-colored image and there she is...ready for winter.  Well, almost...

I decided she needed a fence to be waiting behind. I used the great Decorative Iron Fence D3518 and since I wanted it to conform to all the layers when adhered, I used laminating film and stamped onto it with Stazon ink.  It worked wonderfully.  Yippeee, I have a new product to use in my stamping!!!  And no adhesive dots to show :)

Just when I thought it might be ready to post I wanted to have it snowing, sooooo

I grabbed three Prima white flowers, added adhesive to the fronts and sprinkled white glitter on them. When dry, I glued them onto the card like they were falling around the image and added a tiny drop of white Liquid Pearl to the center of each one. Now it was complete.

She is absolutely Ready for Winter and I do believe she almost has a grin on her face, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by and checking out today's card.

Watching For Spring...

Hi Bloggers!

I'm sure you up north crafters are watching for spring too. This card was created using only two stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps; a tree with berries and a cardinal. I love the tree with berries 'cause it is such a versatile stamp. It can be used for all seasons and creates such an interesting background.  Well, I'll let you decide.

I just love cardinals and we get a lot of them at our feeders. It's fun to see the male feeding the female...hmmm, wish that would happen in my kitchen.

This picture gives you a closer look at the three layers that are stamped with the tree with berries stamp. The red card stock was stamped with black ink, the silver stardream card stock was stamped with silver Brilliance and the top layer was stamped with gray ink on top of decorative paper. The berries were colored with a fine-tipped red pen.  But remember, the berries can be any color you choose to suit the season. The decorative paper was attached to a mat of black and popped up on the stardream.

I decided to add a flower in the corner using the same colors used for the card and added just a bit of tulle/pearls for interest.

The lovely cardinal is the focal point of this card. It is colored with pencils, fussy cut and added to the front.

I hope this inspires you to create something today. Thanks for visiting!
